civilization

Well, it turns out that for my brother's birthday I, my dad, and my siblings went to one of those jumpy-thing places (you know, with the inflatable bounce-houses? hopefully someone understands what I am saying) while my mom went out to get presents and wrap them. Yeah, my parents are procrastinators too. And we'll go to that unnamed water park next week, before we go to Alabama again.

So.. September 21st! Civilization 5 is finally coming out on September 21st! Whee! I've been playing various Civ games since I was like 5, so I'm quite excited. I'll have to buy it straightaway c: For those that don't know, Civilization is an amazing build-an-empire turn-based-strategy game. Although people who would be interested in that sort of thing have probably already heard of Civ, but I digress.

Ah well.. gonna go play aramii now! *poofs*

titles are boring

So tomorrow's my brother's sixth birthday, and to celebrate this our family is going to this awesome waterpark. That will be fun, especially because I haven't gone to go anywhere decent in terms of amusement parks since third grade, seeing as around third grade my little brother was born and prevented us from doing that kinda thing. (Admittedly, had I taken orchestra, band, or choir in the past 2 years, I would've gotten an opportunity to.. but that's not the point.) So, that'll definitely be cool.

So, uh.. I'm listening to my whole music collection, shuffled, which I don't usually do (I tend to stick to playlists.) Yeah. Oh, and on Friday I hosted a sleepover that consisted of me and my 4 best friends. I hadn't seen any of them but one all summer, so that was fun. 'Course, a couple of them left stuff, but I'll be able to return said stuff at one of the friends' birthday part on the 7th.

So, uh.. yeah. I'm tempted to ramble on about some changes in one of my favorite sites, but no one would know what the heck I'd be talking about, so I'll shut it.

Brother - Indiana Jones

So my 5-year old brother has Lego Indiana Jones for the DS and Lego Indiana Jones for the Wii. He had an Indiana Jones birthday party. And he's watched the first 3 indiana jones movies at least a couple times each.

He especially likes The Last Crusade; he's watched it at least twice today. As I was putting it on for him again a couple minutes ago, I realized that it was PG-13, Parents Strongly Cautioned. Sigh..


(Of course, my dad showed me Princess Mononoke, which is also PG-13, when I was 4. xD)

Brother

My brother just turned 5 and sometimes is really really silly, playing around and making these hilarious faces. Other times he goes into these rages and hits us (by us I mean me, my sister, my mom, and my dad) because they're not doing what he wants them to. Because of this, the fact that he barely eats anything but chicken nuggets, and the fact that he is still in diapers, my uncle thinks he has Asperger's Syndrome or something like that. I know, because I heard him telling my grandma that he thought so while my mom was out of earshot. However, I was in earshot. I don't know whether my uncle ever spoke to my mother about it, but I did make it clear to him that I had heard.

My uncle is a very smart man, but I think he is making assumptions. Perhaps it is just me, unwilling to believe that there could be something wrong with my brother, but I think that he will grow out of these things. I hope so, anyways.

I do know that he could be worse. My mother's friend Trisha and her children have been staying with us for a couple days. Trisha has one 8-year old daughter (my sister and her have become best friends) and one 5-year old son. The son has Down Sydrome, which means that he is (not trying to be offensive here) mentally retarded, has speech issues, and has a shorter lifespan. None of these things apply to my brother (well, I'm just assuming here on the lifespan thing), which is a good thing.

Also, my brother is very smart. He started reading at 2 and has a very good memory. But the kid with Down's syndrome - his name is Sam - well, even he has learned to use the toilet.

At least my brother would probably like Star Wars better than Sam.
