for victory we ride, fury of the storm

I always open up a tab to blog on, but it's always lower on my list of priorities, and then it doesn't get done. So I blog from my iTouch to make sure it gets done.

Today we have the Reading TAKS test, which is always really annoying and boring - and of course I dislike the importance the state places on it. But I never have a problem, usually only miss one or two out of how many questions? Fifty-eight? Yeah..

I boast sometimes that I can and will get up early if I want to (if you consider 5:50 early), but really I dislike having to sacrifice sleep. This is not made easier by the fact that I sleep in a loft bed, which (as I always explain it) is a bunk bed without the bottom bunk.

And I also reprimand myself whenever I get up early just so I can harvest my crops on farmville. Which I did today - although I didn't get up quite as early as usual. :P

Darn, the computer I'm using is really slow, especially when it comes to FarmVille. At least I harvested all that Forbidden Rice and planted some more.

Oh yeah, and I got a new bike yesterday. It's silver, and much better for my size than my old one. It's pretty cool.

Every day is closer to summer break - which is exciting not only in that, well, it's the end of school, but also in that I leave for London the day after school gets out, and my cruise starts a few days after. AND ALSO, when I'm in eighth grade, none of the really annoying guys in my multimedia and gym classe will be there. Hooray!

By the way, I was writing this this morning before school.. but then my iTouch ran out of power. Good thing it saved!

Pandora's Box

So. I think it's blogging time. If only I knew what to say.

My science teacher dropped a project on us on Monday; said project is due Friday, but for once I'm not procrastinating, so I am in no way stressed. So that's good. Next week we have the reading and math TAKS (standardized testing), but I'm not worried about them either, they're just boring. And we have a "field" trip on Thursday. Haha, no fields for us, we get to go see Oceans. Which isn't that bad - it means no homework - but I've seen a lot of movies very similar to it. You know, they show you ocean life, then they lecture you about pollution. Hooray. Honestly, my school isn't very creative with its "field" trips.

I've started listening to Pandora, an internet radio station website, a lot. (Like Pandora's Box - has nothing to do with Avatar.) You enter the name of a song or artist - this is the seed - and Pandora makes a persionalized radio station from that seed. You can add more seeds and ban artists from your station, and you can find info for all the songs and artists onsite. You can even skip through songs you don't like, though you can't rewind. Best of all, there's a great iPhone/iTouch app for it, which is free and (I found) even better than the site. I hear there's even an iPad app, though of course I haven't gotten to try that out.

So. Pandora! I'm typing this from my iTouch, so I'm not sure, but it's probably pandora.com, nice and simple. Go check it out!

recommendation!

Before you continue reading, here's a screenshot I took of Google Chrome's approach to dealing with unresponsive pages.

Did you laugh?

Hope so. Anyways, I've discovered this cool site called rec.fm, where you recommend a product to your followers, and if it gets bought because of your recommendation, some of the proceeds go to the Red Cross or the charity of your choice. It easily lets you connect to Twitter, Facebook, and a multitude of other social networking sites. I've already recommended three things, which can be found here, here, and here.

Hey, I know I don't really have all that many readers, but I hope I can reach someone here.

Nothing much has been happening in real life. I mean, there's only 6 weeks until school gets out and I go to Europe, and that's certainly exciting, but other than that...

By the way, I would like to ask again: Does anyone know of some good iPhone/iTouch travel apps that will help me while I am in Europe?

titleless

So, on Sunday we went to Best Buy and swapped my broken iTouch for a new one. Since I had just synced it with my computer on Saturday, virtually everything was the same.. except of course the screen. (: We also bought a good case.

I watched 9 again on Friday with some of my friends.. That, along with some of the songs in Dear Agony, the album by Breaking Benjamin, inspired me to start drawing more. Hooray.

There's only a month and a half, basically, until the end of the school year (and the start of my cruise!) The thought of this excites me greatly. I have observed a decline in homework recently... or perhaps I have just actually been getting stuff done.

i do believe i shall blog more often.

I have to say, after watching the previews for Toy Story 3, the movie looks pretty epic. And luckily for me, it comes out on one of the two days in June that I'll be at home! Sweet! It's very intriguing, and hilarious as always.

I'm beginning to worry about my headphone situation. My current headphones (made by Sony) started to malfunction today. I was annoyed, and then suspicious. When I tested the headphones on my iPod nano and on the computer, they worked fine. So it may have to do with the time I slipped and dropped my iTouch on some concrete - it got two parallel cracks in the screen for that, but I hadn't noticed any other errors before now, and I can't really see the cracks anyways unless I look at the screen from an angle. (I think I have a habit of writing really longs sentences. Phew.) On the other hand, earphones and headphones have periodically been failing on me for a while now, so perhaps that's not it.

Anyways, I bought two albums and some songs, and I have 9 dollars left over in my iTunes account. Does anyone reading this have any suggestions for iPhone/iTouch travel apps that would help me this summer when I'm on my cruise in Europe?

insert title here

So I saw How To Train Your Dragon on Friday! It was very visually appealing, pretty funny ("You just gestured to all of me!") and very cute. If I can get up the courage, I might draw Toothless (the Night Fury) or something.

I was listening to some of the songs in the Almost Alice album, and I realized there are really only a couple songs I might want to buy out of that. However, I'm also eying two albums, one by Breaking Benjamin and one by Dragonforce, that I might buy.. Perhaps I shall buy those two albums and use any leftover iTunes money to buy apps that will help me when I'm on my cruise in Europe.

When I first heard about the iPad, it seemed cool as a tablet, but otherwise a lot like the iTouch. However, there seem to be some pretty darn good apps for it out there, and it now seems more appealing.. I don't have anywhere close to that sort of money, though, so I'm fine, I guess. 'Sides, I have my iTouch.

Yesterday I went out and brought up my camera into this nearly 40 feet tall tree in my backyard. I didn't go all that high up (well, not high compared to how high I usually go) but I've been kinda wanting to do that for a while now. I got some nice pictures (I think) and I didn't drop the camera, so.. yeah. I might post some photos.

I used to roleplay a lot, although it was *cough* mostly on neopets, so I dunno what that really says. Now the only site I roleplay on is this one Warriors roleplaying site with a really good plot, called Starless. Lately I've been kinda lax about roleplaying there.. but tonight I've made like 5 new posts! Feeling good! :)

Cats!

So officially, we have one cat. Her name is Tasha. Here she is.

But really, we have another cat, Angelina. Here she is, eating the food we put out for her and Tasha, as usual.

Usually that mat - no, the whole front porch - is Tasha's turf, but right now she's relaxing in the shade of the car.

When she's done eating, Angelina goes to the sidewalk outside the front porch to relax, because relaxing is the cool thing for cats nowadays.

See, look! Relaxation!

These cats sure do like to relax, don't they?

But wait! Tasha has come to reclaim her porch!

Is there a fight? Nope. Tasha just goes to her food bowl - because eating is also one of those things that is in for cats, you know.

So Angelina can go back to relaxing in peace.

Angelina still has to be wary, though. So she watches Tasha from her relaxation spot.

*watch watch watch*

I decide to pet Angelina, hoping I don't make Tasha jealous.

But all Tasha does is brush past us and retreat into her sanctuary under the bushes.

If you're confused about how she got there, the entranceway is between that column and the brick wall.

So Angelina is free to drink some of that beloved water! Which is - you guessed it - also in for cats! Wow!

Tasha goes out for a stroll - I think she's a bit irritated by my picture-taking.
So those are the pictures I took of my cats today...

But wait! There was one cat I forgot!

:)
